Our Restorative Health Approach to Parkinson's
What is Parkinson's Disease?
Supporting health in Parkinson’s requires understanding the core biochemical breakdowns associated with the condition and reinforcing the brain’s capacity for adaptation and repair.
Parkinson’s begins in the substantia nigra (SN), a small brain region where dopaminergic neurons gradually degenerate. These neurons regulate movement by releasing dopamine, which activates GABAergic “brakes” that fine-tune motor control. As dopamine is lost, the brain can no longer regulate these brakes, leading to tremors, stiffness, and slowed movement.
But the damage doesn’t stop there. Mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and glial inflammation accelerate neuron loss. While medications like L-DOPA temporarily relieve symptoms by boosting dopamine levels, they do not halt progression — and often lead to new complications like dyskinesias (involuntary movements) over time.
Scientific evidence now points to one of the most promising biochemical protectors in this process: plasmalogens. These molecules stabilize membranes, combat oxidative stress, and appear to preserve dopamine neurons in both animal models and human studies.
Watch: What’s Really Going On in Parkinson’s
In this episode of Health Matters, Dr. Goodenowe takes a biochemical look at Parkinson’s disease – exploring how dopamine loss, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial dysfunction drive symptoms and progression.
How We Apply Restorative Health Principles in Parkinson’s
Once we understand what’s breaking down, we can begin the process of restoring function. Our programs follow a phased approach: first, we measure your unique biochemical and neurological profile; then we support the systems in need of repair; and finally, we track your progress over time to sustain and optimize results. Each phase combines advanced technology with a long-term commitment to your recovery.
Set Your Baseline
We begin by measuring what’s happening inside the body of an individual diagnosed with Parkinson's. These assessments provide essential insight into the biological systems affected in Parkinson’s disease and help guide each step of the program.
The BioMetrix™ BioScan comprehensively measures key biochemical systems. Key biochemical system dysfunctions associated with Parkinson’s include:
- Depleted plasmalogen levels
- Phosphatidylcholine deficiencies
- Mitochondrial dysfunction
- Elevated Oxidative Stress Biomarkers
- And more…
The BioMetrix™ NeuroMRI technology uses the most advanced 3T MRI instrumentation. Nine proprietary sequence programs are utilized to measure all aspects of human brain structure and function. Key neurological systems measured by NeuroMRI that require special attention in Parkinson’s include:
- Neuroinflammation
- Cortical thinning
- Loss of structural connectivity
- Hyper and hypo functional connectivity
- Reduced blood flow
- Biochemical deficiencies such as glutathione
- And more…
Detailed questionnaires and in person physiological assessments are designed to evaluate motor and non-motor symptoms, including tremors, rigidity, slowness, posture, sense of smell, and mood. Subtle improvements such as restored arm swing, facial expression, or personality provide meaningful signs of progress.
Begin Your Restorative Health Journey
The BioNutix™ Nutrition program comprehensively supplies the body with key biochemical intermediates, cofactors, and nutrients. It is specifically designed to pass the blood brain barrier and directly support brain cells such as neurons and oligodendrocytes, to restore synaptic function and myelination and reduce brain inflammation.
Key biochemical systems that require special support in Parkinson’s include:
- Proprietary Plasmalogen precursor supplements
- Proprietary complex lipid nutrition including human optimized phosphatidylcholine
- Mitochondrial function and capacity support
- Inflammation resolving support
- And more…
A lifestyle plan is developed that is designed with you in mind. Every person has unique challenges and opportunities in their personal life. Restoring health is not a quick fix. It is a life-long endeavor. Building and optimizing a plan that you can do for the rest of your life is critical to a successful and sustainable path of recovery.
Monitor, Improve, and Perpetuate Your Health
This isn’t a one-time fix — it’s a process of continual improvement.
The Immorta™ self-directed personal research software is a comprehensive system for tracking your health data over time. Designed to support your long-term restorative and preventive health goals, Immorta serves as your personal database. It stores all of your lab results and assessments, while also allowing you to log your diet, exercise, medications, and any other relevant health information.
The Engage™ educational and community interaction software program is designed to help you connect, learn, and grow throughout your health journey.
Engage is your gateway to a broad database of informational content covering a wide range of health and technology topics. It also connects you with a community of individuals facing similar health challenges. We are stronger together — learning from one another, offering support, and finding inspiration through shared experience. If you want to run a 4-minute mile, you train with runners who have done it. Engage is what makes perpetual health perpetually fun and rewarding.

Is This Program Right for You or Your Loved One?
This program is designed for individuals at any stage of Parkinson’s who want to do more than manage symptoms. It’s built for those ready to support their body’s natural ability to restore neurological health.
It may be right for you if:
- You’ve been diagnosed with Parkinson's and want to take action before symptoms progress
- You’re experiencing L-DOPA-induced dyskinesias or psychiatric side effects
- You want access to advanced tools and technologies not typically available through conventional care
- You’re interested in supporting your dopamine neurons to function better and possibly regenerate
- You want to build resilience against future neurodegeneration
- You want measurable tools to track your progress and understand what’s working
This is not a replacement for your current care – it’s a new layer of support for those who are ready to take action.

Restorative Goals
The program aims to restore lost neurological function by addressing the biochemical root causes of Parkinson’s disease, including dopamine cell dysfunction, plasmalogen depletion, oxidative stress, and loss of synaptic activity. The goal is to support neuroregeneration, stabilize brain chemistry, and promote functional recovery.
With consistent participation in the program, many clients have experienced meaningful improvements. These outcomes are possible, and they reflect the core goals of the restorative approach:
Improved Balance & Coordination
Reduction in L-DOPA Dependence
Return of Taste, Smell, & Personality
Improved Strength and Mobility
Enhanced Mood, Focus, & Motivation
Increased Confidence & Independence
Please note: Every individual’s experience is unique. While these improvements have been observed in some clients, results vary and cannot be guaranteed.
Real stories. Real impact.
In just six weeks, Ian experienced a dramatic turnaround. Once struggling with balance issues, falls, and a loss of strength, he regained independence - climbing stairs on his own, walking without a cane, and even coming off L-DOPA entirely. His sense of taste returned, and so did his personality. As his partner shared, it felt like “rewinding the clock” and getting the “lovely cheeky man” back.
